Taylor Lorenz of The Washington Post is being accused of "doxxing" the anonymous woman who operates the popular Twitter account "Libs of TikTok."
Shapiro added: “Targeting a Twitter account that literally just posts Leftists owning themselves because that account damages the Left is pure Lorenz.” Taylor Lorenz, the Washington Post’s internet culture beat reporter, is being accused of “doxxing” the anonymous woman who operates the popular Twitter account “Libs of TikTok.” “Doxxing” is the term used to describe the act of posting the personal information of those who wish to remain anonymous.

Under normal circumstances, identifying the brains behind an anonymous viral social media account would be of minor importance — but there’s a particular urgency and public interest to unmasking Libs of TikTok. In addition to a recent interview on Tucker Carlson Tonight, the account’s creator has appeared multiple times on Fox News, which routinely sources stories from videos and photos shared to Libs of TikTok accounts. The username discovery allowed Daily Dot reporter Claire Goforth to find a link between Libs of TikTok and a Brooklyn-based realtor, dropping information that any savvy internet user could piece together to construct a probable doxxing — but now that Lorenz is on the beat? Lorenz is disliked so much by right-wingers that they seemingly ignored the Daily Dot’s relatively thorough investigation into the identity of Libs of TikTok’s creator on April 18 — or that a software developer was able to track all usernames previously associated with the Libs of TikTok Twitter account earlier this month.
"Wasn't this psycho on tv 2 weeks ago actually crying about the exact type of behavior that seems to be her exact business model," Donald Trump Jr. tweeted.
The Libs of TikTok account on Twitter retweeted Trump's post. Gay/trans ppl targeted by the acct have had their lives destroyed, but the *point* of the story is actually a nuanced look at radicalization & how the right wing outrage cycle functions. Lorenz reported that Raichik was working as a real estate agent in Brooklyn when she created the account. Trump is one of many conservatives who have expressed outrage over Lorenz's piece published by the Washington Post, with many accusing her of being guilty of harassment herself in her efforts to identify the previously anonymous user. but we know that won't happen," Trump tweeted. If only she tried to report on real bad actors rather than a random personalities on social...
Washington Post “journalist” Taylor Lorenz doxxed the creator of the popular “Libs of Tik Tok” Twitter account in a hit piece on Tuesday. Lorenz says the.
Libs of Tik Tok had the nerve to share angry liberals owning themselves. In addition to her creepy “reporting” tactics, Taylor Lorenz is one of the biggest hypocrites on the Twitter app. Taking down Libs of Tik Tok and anyone else who pokes fun at the woke is Lorenz’s mission. So she reported for duty and began trying to intimidate, or in her words “expose,” the woman behind the Libs of Tik Tok mask. To write the hit piece, Lorenz practiced harassment, not journalism. Lorenz doxxed the creator for just one reason: she wants to destroy her.

"This is doxxing and smearing of @libsoftiktok by the billionaire-controlled Bezos Post." "Taylor Lorenz is a terrible journalist and worse human," Ben Shapiro wrote. Or is it just permissible if the anonymous social media user has a certain kind of politics?— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) April 19, 2022 "Is it now permissible for journalists to investigate and expose the real identity of any anonymous social media user? Is it now permissible for journalists to investigate and expose the real identity of any anonymous social media user? "There's a real story about how @libsoftiktok by simply posting videos became objectively one of the most important conservative activists in the entire country," news anchor Saagar Enjeti tweeted. Lorenz defended her actions leading up the publication of her article allegedly outing the Libs of TikTok operator. She argued in a tweet that in an effort to “ensure” she had the correct person, she used “every tool” at her disposal. Critics are going after Lorenz for attempting to out the individual behind the account just weeks after Lorenz appeared on MSNBC’s “Meet The Press” and broke down over the online “harassment” she says she has experienced.

Lorenz, who formerly worked at The Hill, among multiple other outlets, has been outspoken in the past about the online harassment she has faced while reporting on internet culture and the creator economy. We invite you to join the discussion on Facebook and Twitter. Some accused Lorenz of “doxxing” the account’s creator, a method used by people online to broadcast the personal information of their enemies in order to encourage harassment.
"Raichik isn't just some average woman w/ a social media account," Lorenz said about the woman behind the influential right-wing Libs of TikTok account.
"[A]ll the info in the Libs of TikTok piece was already publicly available online. "Taylor Lorenz is an accomplished and diligent journalist whose reporting methods comport entirely with The Washington Post's professional standards," Barr said. "Libs of TikTok's influence spreads far beyond its followers," Lorenz wrote.
The Washington Post responded to criticism of a Taylor Lorenz article 'exposing' the creator of the viral Twitter account, Libs of TikTok.
“[Libs of Tik Tok], in her management of the Libs of TikTok Twitter account and in media interviews, has had significant impact on public discourse and her identity had become public knowledge on social media. The Post reporter even showed up to the home of the account owner’s relatives and harassed a random Instagram user with a similar name, asserting that she was going to be “implicated as starting a hate campaign against LGBTQ people.” The Post reporter even showed up to the home of the account owner's relatives and harassed a random Instagram user with a...

Greenwald also lashed out at Lorenz on Twitter after her story was published Tuesday, claiming she “badgered” Raichik’s relatives by coming to their home to confirm Raichik’s identity. Lorenz wrote in her story that a woman at an address linked to Raichik’s name in Los Angeles did not identify herself, and said a tweet from Greenwald claiming she visited Raichik’s family’s home allowed her to confirm she had the correct house. The account’s popularity comes as GOP-led state legislatures across the country have sought to pass bills curtailing discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity in schools, and as conservative pundits like Ingraham claim public schools are serving as “ grooming centers.”
The Fox News host wondered why Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz isn't registered as a foreign agent.
Among other things, Carlson called her “merely a receptacle for information other people gather for their own ends.” Brown, Lorenz notes, receives support from the German-based Prototype Fund. The fund, according to its website, “supports ideas in civic tech, data literacy, data security and software infrastructure” with money from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Tucker Carlson on Tuesday night wondered aloud why Taylor Lorenz, the author of a Washington Post story earlier in the day on the popular Twitter account Libs of Tik Tok, isn’t registered as a foreign agent.
The Washington Post came out in support of internet culture beat reporter Taylor Lorenz over the "doxxing" controversy surrounding "Libs of TikTok."
Raichik spoke by phone with Carlson on his Fox News show last night. The accusation proved to be false. As a result of the criticism, Lorenz claimed that she was then subjected to “online harassment” that led to suicidal thoughts and post-traumatic stress disorder.
