Phoenix Suns Update on Devin Booker Playoff Hamstring Injury (Valley of the Suns)

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker injured his hamstring in Game 2 of the First Round vs the New Orleans Pelicans tonight. Here's everything we know so far.

With it being the playoffs, Phoenix will likely try to find out more tonight, but when Booker did last injure his hamstring, the Suns waited until the next day to conduct their tests on it. However, neither Booker nor that second consecutive victory could be seen once the final buzzer blared tonight, as the Suns fell to the Pelicans 125-114. That injury forced Booker to miss seven games in total across two weeks.

All the Suns can hope for now is a positive prognosis on Booker's hamstring. The Suns, heavily favored at home, went on to lose Game 2 to the Pelicans, 125-114, and find themselves tied in their series up at one game apiece. Seven of those missed games were due to a hamstring injury Booker suffered in November, and while there's no telling how serious this one is, that one kept him out for a little less than three weeks.

Pelicans odds vs Suns: Should Willie Green change the starting ... (Pelican Debrief)

The New Orleans Pelicans will try to steal one on the road tonight against the Phoenix Suns, but may need to make some adjustments.

The over/under is 221.5 combined points and I like the under again in this one. If the Pels can avoid a slow start, I like them to cover this spread and maybe even steal a win on the road. You can watch on Bally Sports New Orleans (to get the local broadcast team), TNT or listen on ESPN 100.3 FM. Here is the starting lineup Iโ€™d like to see, which would create more space for Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum to operate. Jaxson Hayes played just 11 minutes in game 1 and was ineffective. The Pelicans have to score more than 99 points to beat the Suns and may need to inject a little more shooting and space into the starting five to do it.

The New Orleans Pelicans played at their season's peak to take a 125-114 win from the Phoenix Suns in The Valley behind Brandon Ingram's 37-point night.

Now it is up to the fans in New Orleans to bring a playoff atmosphere to the Smoothie King Center on Friday for Game 3. Nance Jr. later claimed Ingram was "the best player on the floor." (We came) out and executed over and over again in the last five minutes of the game." "Everybody was effective on the floor. "Everything was flowing," Ingram said. The Pelicans nailed both objectives, making seven straight shots while holding Paul in check in the fourth quarter. The Pelicans could extend their time in the postseason by taking control of the series in New Orleans. The next two games are in the Smoothie King Center, and the Suns may be without their MVP candidate. Brandon Ingram told the television broadcast crew he "started aggressively," but it was his 26 second-half points that secured the win. Watching film on the (training) table, watching the film on the bus, taking care of his body now better. In a game of minor adjustments, Green said, "The most important thing with our group is we just kept our poise. He was getting the ball. Coach Willie Green said of Ingram's night, "It was amazing, just to see him work.
