Memphis Grizzlies game tonight vs Boston Celtics: injury report and ... (Beale Street Bears)

The Memphis Grizzlies host the Boston Celtics in the 2021-22 regular season finale. Here's what to expect in the last dress rehearsal before the playoffs.

Boston is one of only two teams the Grizzlies have not defeated at least once this season (the other team is the Atlanta Hawks). A 57th win would give this team the outright record. Memphis Grizzlies season series vs Boston Celtics Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are playing phenomenal basketball since March 1. Memphis Grizzlies vs. Boston Celtics Game Preview (Grizzly Bear Blues)

While the Grizzlies have every reason to rest their main contributors, they simply may decide to go after history.

The Grizzlies have continued to improve their decision making and passing as a whole as the season as progressed, and every bit of that ability will be needed to find the best shot possible on each possession. However, for a team that seems to rewrite history every time they play, getting the franchise record for wins in a season seems like enough motivation to win. As a result, the Celtics will likely be treating this as a regular game, with a clear need to win. They will also get to witness a coaching matchup between two of the most legitimate candidates for Coach of the Year in Ime Udoka and Taylor Jenkins. It is not much of a debate that the Boston Celtics have basically been the NBA’s best defensive team since January. Even without Robert Williams, the Celtics lead the NBA in points allowed per game and 2PFG% allowed. For one, they will be attempting to set a new franchise record for regular season wins, surpassing the total of 56 set by the 2012-2013 Grizzles. And for how special this season has been so far for Memphis, if the roster wants to go all out, within reason, to achieve that record, they certainly should be given a chance to do so.

Hardwood Houdini has come up with a blockbuster trade proposal that lands Ja Morant on the Boston Celtics in the offseason.

Memphis similarly rose meteorically during the season’s second half but can also be due for a letdown. The wrong postseason matchup could certainly do the trick. In general, the future is a more interesting place to look regarding these two teams than an ultimately meaningless regular-season finale.

Celtics vs. Grizzlies predictions: Pick against the spread, over/under ... (DraftKings Nation)

We go over some of the best betting options for Sunday's matchup between the Boston Celtics and Memphis Grizzlies.

This is an easy choice as the Celtics still have a potential higher seed to play for tonight. Boston (50-31) lost a crucial game to Milwaukee on Thursday, a loss that left the Celtics sitting one game back of the No. 2 seed Bucks in the Eastern Conference standings. Memphis (56-25) has long clinched the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference and effectively have nothing to play for in tonight’s finale. Through a web of tiebreaker scenarios, the Celtics could still claim the two-seed in the East with a win and a Bucks loss to the Cavs this afternoon.

Warriors star Draymond Green thinks Ja Morant is an MVP candidate, not an MIP candidate. Jordan Poole is the MIP candidate.

Morant’s Grizzlies secured the No. 2 seed in the playoffs over Green’s Warriors. The young star is leading Memphis with averages of 27.4 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game. “Ja Morant was incredible last year. “The award is called the Most Improved, not who had the best year,” Green told ClutchPoints. “That’s the MVP award actually, and I think a lot of times we get confused when talking about the Most Improved Award or who in that group is having the best year, but no disrespect to Ja Morant, but Ja Morant is an MVP candidate.”

Addressing reporters this weekend, the Golden State veteran Green touched on the Most Improved Player Award and explained why Warriors teammate Jordan Poole, ...

Player A is Morant, who made the leap this season from a star to a superstar. Player B is Poole, who made the leap this season from a fringe rotation piece to a legitimate secondary option. The crux of Green’s argument appears to be that Morant was already an excellent player last season while Poole was barely making an impact. After all, this was the season that Morant truly became a box-office draw as well as the leading man for a true title contender. If we’re going by what the title of the award is, what the name of the award is, then it’s easily Jordan.” Ja Morant was f–king incredible last year.

If you ask Golden State Warriors veteran Draymond Green, he thinks Jordan Poole should be the NBA's Most Improved Player of Ja Morant.

Poole has also been automatic from the free-throw line. Morant, a former first-round pick of the Grizzlies, has been sensational this year for his team. Does Green have a case in this case, or is there no way that Morant won’t be winning it?
