Yeah, the first half of the fight because I think Ryan Garcia is head & shoulders above Tagoe,” said Flores. “He has that opportunity on Saturday, and I think he will do it. “I think he’s wildly underrated, he’s great counter puncher with incredibly fast hands and great power. “I think Ryan Garcia wipes him out. “I think we get a spectacular performance out of Ryan Garcia. Tagoe, he’s just a basic fighter. That’s what he’s going to do with Ryan Garcia. The popular Golden Boy promoted star wanted to return late last year against Joseph ‘Jojo’ Diaz Jr, but a wrist injury got in the way of the fight. The scores were 78-74, 78-74, and 80-72. The time of the stoppage was at 2:15 of round two. With this defeat, Teixeira has got a lot of work to do for him to come back from it. “I think if I had pressed a little harder, I would have gotten him out of there. The 46-year-old Fujioka was the one pushing the fight, landing more frequently against the slower Esparza. The judges scored it 100-90, 100-90, and 97-93.

SAN ANTONIO – Hector Valdez went the distance for the third straight time, though preserving his unbeaten record with a strong showing in his home state.

Opening the show, Sacramento’s Santos Ortega (7-0, 3KOs) enjoyed his first knockout since the pandemic after halting Hollywood, Florida’s Jesus Martinez (30-16-1, 15KOs) in the second round of their featherweight bout. A knockdown was called in round five when Valdez landed a left hook, though Moncada insisted his trip to the canvas was the result of their feet getting tangled. The Dallas-based prospect ended a year-long layoff with an eight-round, unanimous decision win over Mexico City’s Daniel Moncada (15-6-2, 5KOs). Scores of 80-71, 79-72 and 78-73 were in favor of Valdez, who was credited with a fifth-round knockdown en route to his clear-cut victory. Rincon jumped out to a strong start, flooring Frias with a straight left hand late in round two. Kalkreuth (9-1, 7KOs) fought for the first time since a stunning six-round loss to .500 journeyman Demetrius Banks, admittedly not at his best as he fought through injuries in what turned out to be an unexpected setback. A jab, right hand combination by Kalkreuth put Silgado flat on his back, with referee Rafael Ramos waving off the contest at 0:46 of round two.
