AUGUSTA, Ga. When a golfer and his caddie get the chance be part of the rich history of The Masters at Augusta National, it's a special milestone. Most golfers ...

Harry said he expects they’ll make a few more trips to the shop during their stay this week. “When you have great friends and family around you, it’s fun to see where this game will take you,” he said. In December, during their first visit to Augusta National, Alex indulged his love of Masters merchandise. I got tons of hats to pass out to friends. “Then we would spend hours at the golf course and just putt. Most golfers spend a lifetime dreaming of the opportunity to compete here. So in some ways, this Masters week was always the goal. Harry was in fourth grade, Alex in first, when they started. I’m three-for-three with commas.” And in some ways, it’s crazy to realize that we’re getting closer to it as we’re doing it. Among them are Harry’s girlfriend, Kailee Kuehn, and her older brother, Korbin, who regularly swapped bragging rights with Harry and Alex. Harry, 30, qualified with a Top 5 finish at last year’s PGA Championship in Kiawah, South Carolina, his first major.

Masters 2022: A New Jersey born golfer is among the leaders at ... (nj.com)

Harry Higgs, the early leader at the Masters, was born in Camden. He doesn't consider himself a Jersey Guy, though.

Higgs will be a popular everyman story this week if he can stay on the leaderboard. But luckily what fills my mind is more of the good. Everybody gives me a hard time about the “where I’m from” section of my online tour bio. He moved to Kansas City, however, as a child, and after playing collegiately at SMU, still calls Dallas home. He was briefly leading the Masters at 2 under through early action in Thursday’s first round. Okay, we’ll explain why that is a bit of an exaggeration in a minute.

Harry Higgs is making his Masters tournament debut this week and opened with a 1-under 71 on Thursday.

I never thought that would be the case.” And while that sort of thing is frowned upon here, Higgs still looked rather exposed at Augusta with his signature one-button-buttoned polo. They’re super confident in it, and a lot of guys just want to show off. While Higgs says he’d prefer to walk around quietly unnoticed, taking care of business, one look at him makes that impossible to believe. He could almost tell as if he was the same way when it was his first time around here.” Mike said his sons were in bed by 9 p.m. though, taking the job of the week seriously. His life-of-the-party, everyman persona makes him an increasingly popular figure on the PGA Tour. “Guys are really good,” he said, “and most of the young guys, I don’t think they really pay attention to the moment. A group of kids at Nicklaus Golf Club at LionsGate in Kansas City made up a putting contest that had them go through the four majors. AUGUSTA, Ga. – Harry Higgs had a good feeling right before bad weather canceled play on Tuesday at the Masters, and rather than make some air swings back at the rental house, his brother Alex and coach Corey Lundberg went to Dick’s and bought a hitting net. There are roughly 50 of Harry’s friends and family in Augusta this week. Some of the kids from those putting contest days are here, too.

Harry Higgs continues splurge of first-time players under-par performances in Masters Tournament debuts.

“D.J. was a wealth of knowledge,” Higgs said. “We’ll see.” “Also, the length some of these kids is a big asset around here. “A lot of guys just want to show off. “There is no secret out here,” Higgs said. “I don't think it really takes more than three or four rounds around this place beforehand,” Higgs said.
