Armando Bacot of North Carolina and David McCormack of Kansas have been two critical players for their teams, and will almost certainly have key roles in ...
And McCormack had a career night against Villanova, scoring 25 points on 10 of 12 shooting. And the 6-foot-10 Kansas forward David McCormack has fought through a foot injury to power his team to the title game. Both teams are littered with players who have taken over certain games to help their teams advance: The Tar Heelsโ Caleb Love scored 30 points against U. C.L.A. in the round of 16 and hit a 3-point dagger against Duke in the semifinal, and Ochai Agbaji of Kansas shot nearly perfectly against Villanova to help his team reach the championship game.
Armando Bacot's ankle injury was a serious concern for North Carolina entering Monday night's national title game against Kansas, but the Tar Heels' center ...
In the first half alone, the Tar Heels built an 18-2 edge in second-chance points. But once the game began and Bacot was loose, he helped the Tar Heels dominate in the toughness-related categories. Despite clear limitations, Bacot racked up 12 points and 10 boards as UNC took a 40-25 lead into the break.

With $50k up for grabs in Monday's college basketball National Championship, Jason Shebilske takes a look at showdown strategies and top options for DFS ...
While Harris isn't particularly dominant in any given category, he has the potential to provide low-budget value in a showdown that primarily features top-tier players. Agbaji has been held under 10 field-goal attempts in two of his last three appearances, but he's remained relatively consistent from a DFS standpoint. Wilson had an inconsistent role for the Jayhawks earlier in the year, but he's performed consistently during the NCAA Tournament. After playing just 20 minutes in the blowout win over Texas Southern in the first round, the redshirt sophomore has posted double-doubles in three of the last four games while scoring at least 33.5 DFS points in each of the three outings with double-doubles. As long as he remains out of foul trouble, he figures to be a strong player in cash games. The junior has posted at least 36.8 DFS points on DraftKings in each of his five NCAA Tournament appearances, and he's posted double-doubles in each of the last seven games. He has the highest salary of any player in the showdown, and drafting him as a captain is a somewhat chalky pick that will limit DFS players from loading up on elite talent on the rest of their rosters.
New Orleans โ North Carolina junior center Armando Bacot said Sunday that the experience he had playing for Kansas coach Bill Self during the FIBA Americas ...
Bacot is averaging 16.3 points and 13.1 rebounds per game this season and was the runner-up in ACC Player of the Year balloting. "He was an intense guy," Bacot said. He averaged 7.8 points and five rebounds in 12.2 minutes as the United States went 6-0, won each game by an average of 49.3 points and claimed the gold medal.

Bacot's 12 points and 10 rebounds at halftime gave him his 31st double-double of the season, tying a record held by Hall of Famer David Robinson.
The Pirates are going to have to pitch well to compete because they are probably the worst scoring team in the NL. The Pirates might have a chance to be competitive on the mound. The bullpen might be solid but given the state of the team, they are probably going to shed any arms they can for future considerations. It is very hard to not like the Brewers to win the division and get back to the playoffs. There is no reason to baby these guys, just get the most out of them to get through the season. Quintana and Thompson are not aces but they are MLB quality hurlers and they should be able to give them innings. Suzuki is a Japanese import most expect to make an immediate impact but that will not be enough for this lineup to be competitive. Marcus Stroman is not an ace but he is a quality hurler and guys like Wade Miley and Drew Smyly are going to keep this team from falling to the depths of Pittsburgh. The bullpen is the weakest unit on the team as they did little to upgrade or invest in that area. You have to wonder if guys like Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado will maintain their high levels of production as they continue to age, especially Goldy. Tyler O'Neill is the future of the lineup but he is not in the Juan Soto/Fernando Tatis category. They got hot late and got into the playoffs but I am not sure they are any better heading into this season. The addition of Matz should work but it does not give them a Big Three to compete against the Brewers. The bullpen is good but again if you are comparing it to Milwaukee it is not at the same level. Renfroe is a proven power bat, and while McCutchen is on the decline he gives them more than they got from the likes of Bradley. They still need guys like Christian Yelich and Keston Hiura to find their form though. The National League Central was won by the Milwaukee Brewers last season and it is definitely the Brew Crew's to lose again this year.
