Silk Sonic was also nominated for record of the year, best R&B performance and best R&B song at this year's show. Silk Sonic! Following an opening performance of their hit "777," the super-duo — comprised of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, both 36 — took home the song of the year trophy for "Leave the Door Open" at the 64th Grammy Awards on Sunday. The Vegas-themed performance is fitting for the two artists who kicked off their An Evening with Silk Sonic residency in Vegas earlier this year. Together they performed a rousing, extended version of the song dedicated to Lady Luck and rollicking good times, Vegas-style. They also tipped to SoHo’s “Hot Music.” The Grammys are in Las Vegas this year — and Silk Sonic is paying homage to Sin City with their opening performance.

He took the trophy Sunday for his single “You Should Probably Leave.” He also won the award in 2018 and 2016. Like Legend, the event was filled with empowering messages that touched on the importance of recognizing Black music creators, and featured a slew of popular performances. The pair won two awards during the pre-telecast ceremony and are nominated for record and song of the year. The song won best performance by a country duo or group Sunday afternoon. “I need to warn everybody, the next presenter is a comedian,” Burton said. And the Foo Fighters, who lost their drummer, Taylor Hawkins, just over a week ago are up for three Grammys. He noted that “Younger Me” was written in response to his coming out. Mars started the show imploring the Las Vegas crowd at the MGM Grand Arena to get up and dance. They sing to the wounded in hospitals, even to those who can’t hear them,” he said. “Fill the silence with your music. “What it ended up being was a safe space for black women to tell their stories.” But they, of course, not here due to the tragic passing of their legendary drummer, Taylor Hawkins.”
