Injury news, TV/radio, time, odds, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers play-in chances for Sacramento Kings vs. Golden State Warriors game at Golden 1 ...

They will visit the Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves, play host to the Warriors and conclude the regular season on the road against the Dallas Mavericks. LeBron James and Anthony Davis returned from injuries Friday in a loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, but the Lakers are in serious danger of missing the play-in and their remaining schedule is difficult. If the Spurs win and the Kings lose, Sacramento will be eliminated from playoff contention for the 16th year in a row, breaking the record they share with the Buffalo Braves/San Diego Clippers/Los Angeles Clippers. Sabonis, who has missed five games with a left knee contusion, is due to be reevaluated, but the team has provided no update on his condition. The Kings (29-49) managed to stave off elimination by going 4-1 on their five-game road trip last week. Awaiting the Kings after 16 years of futility is a dubious distinction as the franchise with the longest playoff drought in NBA history.

The Kings are 5-1 ATS over their last 6. Their defensive rating is the 17th-best in March. Tipico has no influence over nor are any such revenues in any way dependent on or linked to the newsrooms or news coverage. It allows the second-most points per game in the league (115.8), its main Achilles heel. While I like the Warriors to win, their -230 money line is far too steep. Also, F Harrison Barnes has stepped up for the Kings, and he’s absolutely shredded Golden State this season. Gannett may earn revenue from Tipico for audience referrals to betting services. They sit 12th in the West and are 3.5 games behind the Spurs for the 10th spot. They won 111-107 despite being down 16 in the fourth quarter. Warriors: Steve Kerr sums up Klay Thompson's crazy 36-point ... (ClutchPoints)

Klay Thompson's late-game shooting explosion led the Warriors to a comeback victory over the Jazz and left Steve Kerr supremely impressed.

Their first game will be against the Kings in Sacramento. If they beat the Northern California rivals, the Warriors will have won back-to-back games for the first time since March 14th. Kerr believes his star guard wants to be the player he was before his two-year hiatus so badly that it’s hurting his productivity. The win secured the Warriors a playoff berth, their first since 2019—the year Thompson suffered his first season-ending injury.

Trae Young led the Hawks with 36 points, including nine in the last minute. Klay Thompson led the Warriors with 36 points, including 12 in an 18-0 run in the fourth quarter. The Hawks moved up to eighth place in the Eastern Conference, while the Nets moved up to tenth, ensuring at least a play-in spot for both clubs.

Why Warriors' win over Jazz was 'biggest game of the year' (Monterey Herald)

SAN FRANCISCO — Coach Steve Kerr didn't have to pin a sign on the Warriors' bulletin board in their locker room or repeatedly circle Saturday's game in red ...

“We just know we need to go out there and win games,” Poole said. “You love to play in an environment like that, Chase is amazing when everybody’s on their feet,” he said. We were against a really good team, all games are important at this point,” Poole said. A loss would have jeopardized the Warriors’ chances of having home-court advantage in the playoffs. Luckily, Golden State doesn’t need to worry about that just yet after Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole led the team to overcome a 16-point deficit in the game’s final eight minutes for the win in a performance that was nothing short of amazing. “I know they were talking amongst themselves.”

Steve Kerr didn't tell the Golden State Warriors that this was the most important game of the year so far, but in the 4th quarter, Klay Thompson started ...

In the final 7:54 of the game, he was the only Jazz player to make a basket. Klay called the defense “Not very smart,” and added “I’m not surprised but I’m grateful.” Otto Porter Jr. and Gary Payton II came in and righted the ship, and Thompson made up for some early misses by closing the quarter with a dunk and a three, and the Warriors trailed 30-23 after one. In fact, the team as a whole only turned the ball over once in the entire second half, and not at all in the fourth. It didn’t look like as Utah started draining threes again to start the 4th, and the mostly-bench unit that brought them back quickly ran out of gas. The downside was that Poole also had three turnovers, including a howler with ten seconds left that let Utah close the half on an easy layup. Klay Thompson finished with 36 points and eight three-pointers, five in the final 13 minutes of the game, all of which he played. In the second half he was nearly perfect, scoring with of those points, playing masterful defense and not committing a single turnover. It was a combination of stifling Warriors defense and some stunning Jazz miscues that led to the defeat. The Warriors wouldn’t make a field goal the rest of the way, but they did make all six of their foul shots down the stretch. Tuesday, Mitchell was inbounding the ball with ten seconds left and called a timeout the Jazz didn’t have, Chris Webber-style. That put the Dubs ahead for good, and they held on to win, 113-107, and clinch a playoff spot.

If the Warriors can continue to clean up their defense from deep, they will be able to win a few more games to end the season and set the tone for the playoffs. He has the space for an open three. Poole mimicking Curry in his absence makes much sense because the Warriors’ offense will be that much harder to stop with Curry, Poole and Thompson out there. The Warriors took control when they began to close out on open shots from dee and stopped their tendency to over-help on defense. Poole in some ways has been mimicking Curry. Recently, he’s been handing the ball off and coming off of screens to relocate and score. Andrew Wiggins is the Warriors’ wild card going into the playoffs. After being away from the game for two seasons, Thompson was going to make up for lost time by shooting at a high volume. The Warriors’ defense has been looking better recently than it had in a while. In this set after a first-quarter timeout, the Warriors are running a variation of split action. He’s been forcing bad shots to force himself to get into rhythm and stay there. So that’s the biggest thing we are trying to help him with,” Kerr said before the matchup with the Jazz. The Warriors are 2-6 since Curry’s injury and 4-10 without him on the year.

Their wins bumped the Kings to 29-49 and Golden State to 49-29. Shooting guard Klay Thompson was the offensive standout of the matchup for the Warriors, shooting 8-for-17 from beyond the arc and finishing with 36 points and five rebounds. The victory came about thanks to a strong surge after the half to overcome a 58-45 deficit. Shooting guard Donte DiVincenzo and center Damian Jones were among the main playmakers for Sacramento as the former had 19 points and nine assists in addition to nine boards and the latter dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds along with six blocks. Sacramento didn't have too much breathing room in their contest with the Houston Rockets this past Friday, but they still walked away with a 122-117 win. Bjelica, Poole, and Kuminga led a 10-3 run to start the fourth, and the lead was quickly back north of 20. Instead, some lackadaisical play from Golden State opened the door for another hot stretch from the Kings that incrementally cut the lead to 14, 12, 9, and then 7. With the clock working against them, Sacramento was never able to significantly cut into the lead again. The Dubs have their longest break of what’s left of the regular season over the next few days, where they’ll get to rest up before they host the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday, April 7th at 7:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. Their intensity started to waver and that disinterest opened the door for Sacramento to begin cutting into the large margin. The Dubs led 28-14 heading into the second quarter, and their offense kept pouring things on.

Green, Poole and Kuminga each made a pair of 3-pointers in the first quarter and the team shot 7-for-12 from distance in the first quarter. Wiggins played a key role in the Warriors’ run that put the game away, including a drive down the middle of the lane that he finished with a thunderous slam. As the help defender closed in, Wiggins dished to a cutting Kuminga, and the rookie showed off his explosive bounce and threw down a reverse slam. With the Warriors playing a day after a comeback win over Utah that clinched a playoff berth, several of the Warriors veterans were sitting out the back end of a back-to-back in Sacramento. But Draymond Green suited up and he made an immediate impact. With the Kings on a 15-1 run to make it 93-86, Green had the ball outside the three-point line and the shot clock winding down. The Dubs improve to 50-29 on the season, and they’ll now get three days off before hosting the Lakers on Thursday in the final regular season game at Chase Center.

Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green 'turned the corner' in first ... (ESPN)

In the Warriors' win over the Kings on Sunday, Draymond Green looked the most like himself since his return from a lower back injury.

It was exactly seven days ago that Green sat in an interview room at Capital One Arena in Washington and said he felt "terrible." He explained how he has never made a team worse when he's on the floor. "So for him to be able to play and help lead them, I thought was an important factor tonight. Since that game, it's been a constant push for the Warriors to build on their performance that night. Jordan Poole and Gary Payton II both said it was Green's pep talk during a fourth-quarter timeout that fueled Golden State's 18-0 run against the Jazz. Right after the game, he continued his talk. Against the Utah Jazz on Saturday, Green was one rebound shy of a double-double, finishing with 10 points and nine boards and a plus-20 net rating. But in the Warriors' 109-90 win over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, Green looked the most like himself since his return.
