The galling cynicism of CBS News hiring Mick Mulvaney (The Washington Post)

"Access journalism" takes the media to dangerous places when one side of the aisle is turning against democracy.

“We have a two-party system and one of the two is anti-democratic,” as NYU professor and press critic Jay Rosen put it. “Get over it,” Mulvaney told the press corps who questioned the “quid pro quo” nature of the demand. “If He Loses, Trump Will Concede Gracefully,” read the headline.

Rock is America's favorite music — just not among young people (CBS News)

It's in third place for adults under 30 years of age, behind hip hop and pop.

Three in 10 Americans say they are likely to attend a live music concert in the next few months, including a third of those who had been staying away because of the outbreak. Seven in 10 Americans won't be going to a concert soon, and about a quarter say it's because of the outbreak. Though vinyl may be making a comeback in sales, only 4% of Americans say vinyl records are the way they usually listen to music. Rock music is still the most popular music in America — just not among young people. Black and White Americans also have different tastes when it comes to picking their favorite music genre. Most people listen to music through digital streaming services, but radio comes in second, primarily because it is the way over half of seniors still listen to music.
