2022 WWE WrestleMania 38 Night 2 predictions, card, matches ... (CBSSports.com)

Everything you need to know ahead of the WWE WrestleMania Night 2 pay-per-view this Sunday.

As entertaining as RK-Bro is as an act, you get the sense that WWE is getting antsy to break them up for a less entertaining feud. I'll side with Edge, hesitantly, but am rather confident that this will be Match of the Night. Pick: Edge wins -- Mahjouri Reigns can get his win over Lesnar down the road in the inevitable fourth Lesnar vs. Alpha Academy should have been afforded the opportunity for a longer Raw Tag Team title run, but Orton and Riddle were quick to reclaim their crowns. McAfee is so beloved by fans that it's hard to see him losing to Austin Theory, who has plenty of time in his career to recover from a loss to a pro-athlete-turned-commentator. He won't have that benefit against fellow heavyweight Lashley. "The Almighty" is coming off a recent WWE championship reign, has a winning MMA record and muscles for days. Pick: Sasha Banks & Naomi win the titles -- Shakiel Mahjouri Lashley is returning from several months on the sidelines and his return should result in a win. If there's any out here, it may be in finding the cheapest way for Lashley to lose, which could come down to MVP turning on him and moving on to manage Omos. That would benefit the monster by giving him someone who can work the mic and extend the program with Lashley for a while. Zayn is exactly the right kind of heel to lose this match and have that loss be a benefit in building him up. You would hope that WWE would not go so far as to have a quality superstar like Zayn take the L for "Jackass" star Johnny Knoxville. The no-disqualification stipulation should present opportunities for run-ins and fun stunts from other stars from the film franchise. It's undeniably the right move to have Knoxville get the win.

Final Picks for Reigns vs. Lesnar and WWE WrestleMania 38 Night 2 ... (Bleacher Report)

Find out now with these final predictions for night two of The Showcase of the Immortals. Raw Tag Team Championship Match: RK-Bro vs. Street Profits ...

Styles will get his revenge eventually, but Edge needs this more than the perpetually over Phenomenal One.Winner Takes All for the WWE and Universal ChampionshipsThe biggest match of the year, on the grandest stage of them all, will see WWE champion Brock Lesnar square off with Universal champion Roman Reigns in a Winner Takes All match. This is a match with the grandeur, stakes and expectations of the WrestleMania main event. Reigns has grown and evolved and arrives at the show as the biggest star in WWE. The Tribal Chief has reigned for well over 500 days and has shown no signs of slowing down.Lesnar will get revenge for months of torment in a physical match that will probably see both him and his opponent take some big bumps. Built since Lesnar returned to WWE last August, the feud has had twists and turns but Sunday in Dallas will write its finale in what most hope is a vast improvement over the last time these two took center stage at The Showcase of the Immortals. In that match, Lesnar dismantled Reigns in the most one-sided marquee bout in event history. The winner of the match is rarely left standing tall on the final show before the premium live event.Ripley and Morgan represent the greatest opposition to that outcome, but Banks is a big enough star that one year after a historic main event loss to Bianca Belair, WWE will see to it that The Boss gets her first WrestleMania victory in seven tries.Bobby Lashley returned at the last possible moment, ensuring his place on the WrestleMania card. Edge turned heel, introduced a new persona, and Styles returned from the beating he suffered at the hands of the Rated R Superstar in such short order that there has been no time whatsoever for any of it to sink it.WrestleMania feels very much like the conclusion of a first chapter in a feud still in its infancy.Which begs the question: Does Styles win to avenge the beating, or does Edge pick up the victory to propel things forward? It is entirely too early for Edge, fresh off said heel turn and still fleshing out what this new persona will look like, to lose. Sunday night will see more of the same as Queen Zelina and Carmella defend their titles against the teams of Naomi and Sasha Banks, Natalya and Shayna Baszler, and Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan.Despite the negativity surrounding the creative of the championship, the talent in the match and the in-ring action we have seen out of them in the lead to WrestleMania 38 suggests we should be in for a damn good Fatal 4-Way as long as the match gets time and the competitors do not have to rush through the action. Lesnar and WWE WrestleMania 38 Night 2 Match CardOn the heels of an explosive WrestleMania Saturday, WWE will look to replicate the excitement and energy of night one with a blockbuster Sunday card headlined by Brock Lesnar vs. His opponent Sunday is the dominant, destructive Omos, who has left a path of destruction in his wake since breaking up with tag team partner AJ Styles earlier this year. There is not much of a backstory to speak of outside of The All-Mighty accepting the massive heel's challenge for a WrestleMania match. Of course, the lack of disqualifications allows Zayn to use any underhanded or nefarious means possible to make sure he is not embarrassed or humiliated by the Hollywood celebrity once again.A chaotic match full of showmanship and creative booking to mask Knoxville's lack of in-ring experience should see the fan-favorite score a win, but not without an extraordinary performance from Zayn, who is one of WWE's MVPs over the last year.To say WWE's treatment of its Women's Tag Team Championship has been underwhelming would be an understatement of epic proportions. Sami ZaynOne of the more intriguing matches on Sunday's card is the Anything Goes Match pitting Jackass' Johnny Knoxville against former intercontinental champion Sami Zayn. The lack of rules or order essentially gives Knoxville the opportunity to throw caution to the wind, as usual, and do anything he can to defeat Zayn. Might we see some of his Jackass pals get involved in hopes of securing the win for Knoxville? Will there be some major stunt that fans and mainstream media are talking about the next day? Their match should be full of raw athleticism, strong storytelling and some crowd-pleasing spots from McAfee.Theory got the last laugh Friday on SmackDown, taunting his rival and knowing damn well the former Indianapolis Colt could not do anything about it until Sunday. Given WWE's booking tendencies, expect McAfee to shut Theory up and score the biggest win of his wrestling career on the grandest stage the industry has to offer. It will be a step back for Theory, who has been heated up of late and appears poised to challenge Finn Balor for the United States Championship, but given his pairing with Mr. McMahon, he should be able to recover fairly quickly and easily.Anything Goes Match: Johnny Knoxville vs. Orton is a cerebral performer and should help to direct traffic, while Gable, Otis, Riddle, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins are all more than capable of holding their own with the future Hall of Famer.Expect a hot crowd, three teams busting ass to create magic, and successful title retention from RK-Bro as they continue a reign that was never meant to last this long.Pat McAfee transcends WWE. He is a mainstream media star with an enormous following, and his huge personality has helped make him the color commentator he has developed into over the last two years.

The reality of the situation: Rhodes wants to be WWE champion, the lone feat his father never accomplished in a wrestling ring. But in that moment, it was just closure on the first loop and excitement for what’s next. “One of the most special parts of it was Bruce [Prichard] and the chairman himself, Vince, flew down to meet me," Rhodes said (around the five-minute mark). “If that meeting had not led to anything, had it just been a conversation about wrestling or sports entertainment ... it would been great closure on the last loop, because I left here on the worst of terms. Rhodes ended his six-year absence from WWE on Saturday at WrestleMania 38, defeating Seth Rollins in what became the worst-kept secret in wrestling. "I remember saying, ‘I have to be me. As Rhodes told The Ringer Wrestling Show, however, his desire to finish what he started won him over in his return to WWE. Rhodes said Vince McMahon also gave him the vindication he was seeking in negotiations.

WrestleMania 38 Night 2 preview: Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar ... (New York Post)

WWE appears to be heading toward its first singular world champion since its brand split in 2016 unless things get wacky at the end of Universal champion Roman ...

This is really about shining a light on McAfee’s opponent — Austin Theory. The 25- year-old Theory, who is appearing at his second WrestleMania, is a rising star in the company and his selfie-taking character is being mentored on-screen my Mr. McMahon. Theory has continually taunted McAfee while he’s doing commentary on SmackDown to build the heat here – once running straight to McMahon’s office. Lesnar, who has shown a more affable and entertaining side of himself since returning, took the WWE championship off Big E, lost it to Bobby Lashley (due to outside interference from Reigns and a backstabbing Heyman) at the Royal Rumble, won the Royal Rumble and won the WWE championship back at Day 1 after Reigns had to bow out of their scheduled match after contracting COVID-19. Reigns is in the midst of a 500-plus day reign as Universal champion and the best run of his career. Edge has been near the top of card and isn’t going anywhere, but – after tagging with Omos for while – this can be a launching off point for Styles back into the word title picture. Let’s hope WWE doesn’t just split these teams up once Mania is over and instead gives the division a chance to properly grow. A few months after being full babyface for a mixed tag match with wife Beth Phoenix at the Royal Rumble, Edge has turned things very dark – changing his music and entrance for this feud. McAfee was told about his WrestleMania match during an interview with Vince McMahon on his “The Pat McAfee Show” on SirusXM. Will The Rock confront his cousin to close the show to lay the groundwork for a match next year in Los Angeles? So many questions and we are finally about to get a few answers. Sami Zayn. It’s been made to feel more important than the Intercontinental championship that the “Jackass” star cost his opponent to add even more fire to this feud. Edge, after a viscous beatdown of Styles, sent a message (draped in purple light) to Styles imploring him to bring his viscous side to WrestleMania and thanks the Phenomenal One for unlocking this new side of himself. Reigns pinned Lesnar with some outside help at Crown Jewel in October in their last meeting, they are 2-2 all time in singles matches and The Tribal Chief has never topped The Beast at WrestleMania. There have been plenty of twists and turns to get here – with Heyman smack dab in the middle of it – but someone is leaving Dallas with all the gold. What will a unified champion mean for that person’s presence on WWE TV and the company’s brand split? Reigns goes back to The Beast returning from a more than year-long absence at SummerSlam. It includes their history that dates back to WrestleMania 31 and Paul Heyman and Lesnar’s relationship of 20 years.

WWE can't afford to drop the ball, waste its WrestleMania 38 ... (New York Post)

Now comes the hard part, because this is the “most stupendous two-night WrestleMania in history.” WWE Charlotte Flair reacts after Ronda Rousey kicks out. WWE ...

A lackluster ending to a Night 2 card already fighting an uphill battle can short-circuit the energy WWE created Saturday. Building off of it will make this weekend a huge win for for Vince McMahon’s company as far as good feeling, buzz and momentum around the company creatively. WWE can have a massive weekend and plenty of momentum heading into the “Monday Night Raw” after WrestleMania if it can keep things from slipping like that again. A lot of pressure will fall on Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar and their title unification match to carry a much-less-stacked Night 2 if another contest doesn’t step up and steal the show. There are fewer candidates than Night 1 as the Sunday card features matches with Johnny Knoxville and Pat McAfee and a thrown-together fatal four-way for the women’s tag team championships. WWE can still create a buzz when it gets out of its own way and lets its talented performers do what they do best. Night 1 of WrestleMania 38 felt like everything WWE and its biggest show are supposed to be.

WWE WrestleMania 38 Results: Star Ratings for All Matches from ... (Bleacher Report)

WWE Wrestlemania is in its third year of being a two-night event, and the opening night set a high bar for Sunday...

While it initially felt like a foregone conclusion that Austin would emerge victoriously, there was more than enough back-and-forth to keep it interesting. The finish was also strong, as Austin kicked out of Owens' Stunner, dodged a chair shot that ricocheted off the ropes and hit Owens in the face and delivered his own "Stone Cold" Stunner for the in-ring win.The crowd exploded again after the match as Austin celebrated in the ring. It was likely a little bit of both, but the energy during the Rhonda Rousey and Charlotte Flair match was lacking. It wasn't a bad match, as Rousey and Flair traded big blows and submission attempts. By the end, it truly felt like Belair had overcome the odds, and the crowd erupted in ovation. The match of Wrestlemania thus far, this one was a joy to watch from start to finish. Before the match, a video package showcased Seth Rollins' return to Wrestlemania. He was granted a match by Vince McMahon but with the stipulation that his opponent wouldn't be known until Rollins was in the ring. Many fans anticipated that the surprise entrant would be Cody Rhodes following his departure from AEW. Therefore, his "surprise" return after six years wasn't all that shocking. Rousey switched between strikes and attempts to lock in her patented armbar—and Rousey worked a far cleaner match than she has at times in the past. Both women came out looking strong, and it felt the entire time that it could go either way. Booking deserves credit for not taking too much away from Rousey in her defeat. There wasn't a ton of build-up to this match, other than Kevin Owens trash-talking both Steve Austin and the state of Texas. However, the WWE set up enough animosity for it to make sense when Austin accepted Owens' challenge of a no-holds-barred match to cap opening night.Austin was supposed to simply make an appearance on the Kevin Owens Show to follow the Main Event, but when he came to the ring in his wrestling attire (complete with knee braces) fans knew they were in for a treat. This was no technical masterpiece, which wasn't a surprise seeing as how Austin is 57 years old. The finish was the saving grace of this one.The referee was knocked down by Flair's spear and was unaware of her tapping to Rousey's armbar. They also displayed a fine bit of ring psychology by countering each others' moves and showing that they are indeed familiar foes.Rhodes outlasted Rollins, winning with a Bionic Elbow and a third Cross Rhodes. It was a great return for Rhodes, who appears poised for an instant push to the top of the company." WWE WrestleMania 38 Results: Star Ratings for All Matches from Saturday's CardWWE WrestleMania 38 Results: Star Ratings for All Matches from Saturday's CardWWE Wrestlemania is in its third year of being a two-night event, and the opening night set a high bar for Sunday. As is usually the case with a WWE production, the night wasn't all highlights—and fans of the New Day were disappointed as their match with Sheamus and Ridge Holland was pushed to Sunday. It was an entertaining night overall, though, with its fair share of twists and turns throughout. As opening nights go, the WWE could have done far, far worse.Below, you'll find a look at all seven of Saturday's matches, with star ratings for each—based on factors lie in-ring performances, storytelling, crowd response and overall impact. This probably won't be the last we see of him in the ring. The highlight of Saturday came midway through the card, as Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair put on an absolute clinic. The crowd was into this one quickly, as both women were given spectacular entrances—Lynch getting a Marvel-inspired video package and Belair coming with the Texas Southern University marching band. The action got off to a fast start too, with Lynch looking to put Belair away early with a flurry of offense. Nakamura and the Usos were able to salvage the match, but Boogs' unfortunate injury left this one underwhelming. This felt like the culmination of a lengthy feud between Drew McIntyre and Happy Corbin, who was accompanied to the ring by Madcap Moss. While fans have seen several matches between these two, Corbin has done a tremendous job of painting himself as an unlikable heel, which kept the crowd invested here. The match itself was fairly run-of-the-mill, with McIntyre and Corbin trading big moves and momentum swings. The match sagged a bit in the middle, but it featured a strong finish. How the match was supposed to end is unknown, but it feels unlikely that Nakamura and Boogs were meant to go over.
