Sunday's main event will see WWE champion Brock Lesnar face universal champion Roman Reigns for the third time at WrestleMania. Other big matches include ...
How physical will 'Stone Cold' get? Will Cody Rhodes appear? Can Bianca Belair get revenge on Becky Lynch?
If the story coming out of WrestleMania is going to be Reigns continuing his dominance, it would make sense for The Usos to retain their titles, too. With Big E out of action, Pete Dunne (now going by the name Butch) will be in Sheamus and Holland’s corner instead of wrestling in the match. Reigns is putting his universal championship on the line against WWE champion Brock Lesnar in a title unification match in the main event of Night 2. Rousey will still be a regular with WWE after WrestleMania and is a lock to become the next SmackDown women’s champion. Belair is a strong candidate for match of the night on Saturday. Belair fully cemented herself as a superstar by defeating Sasha Banks at WrestleMania last year. A win will set the stage for his first promo back in WWE on Raw or SmackDown, which might be even more anticipated than the match. Time will tell whether leaving AEW was a smart decision for Rhodes, but his willingness to take risks is something to be admired. Instead, we’ve gotten babyface Rousey feuding with Flair. Rousey is capable of making it work in either role, but the best version of her would be embracing her heel side and not caring what the fans think anymore. If Austin is up for it, the bell should ring and they should have some kind of a match. Signing one of AEW’s founding fathers is a huge opportunity for WWE. Treating Rhodes like the star that he is would send the message to other AEW wrestlers that coming over to WWE is a viable option when they become free agents. When she made her return at the Royal Rumble in January, Rousey being a heel and renewing her rivalry with Lynch is what the audience wanted. WrestleMania has been a pop culture extravaganza since its inception, but it’s important that there’s also substance to go along with the over-the-top spectacle.

A guide to WrestleMania 2022 if you haven't watched wrestling in a year · RAW women's championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. · The Miz & Logan Paul vs. · Drew McIntyre ...
This will be a great match and two guys who can steal a show. WWE has really turned tag team matches into a bit of an afterthought, but these teams are the cream of the crop in my opinion. Okay, don’t get me wrong, these two have great chemistry with the end goal to turn Reigns into Lesnar, but this marks the third time we’ve see the pair lock up. Combined they’ve been wrestling for 54 YEARS and Styles answering Edge’s open challenge was just a way to get these two in the ring. This match exists to whip up social media mentions because of Logan Paul. Rey and Miz can go, and the two real wrestlers in this can have some great exchanges, but Paul and Dominik Mysterio will drag it down. The only question now is when he’ll debut, and Mania is the obvious place. I don’t care if the build has been kinda weak, I want to see this. This is a move to keep his recognition high, and he’ll likely win. Still, it’s WrestleMania ... it’s an event we only get to enjoy once a year, and you deserve to park on a sofa for a stupid amount of time and watch grown adults ragdoll each other. There was a lot of acrimony towards Lynch’s return, as she stormed back onto TV and beat Belair in less than two minutes to win the championship. WrestleMania has been a two night event in recent years — and warning ahead of time, it’s going to be about four hours each night. Zero shade to anyone who ignores WWE from the time between WrestleManias. Watching a year’s worth of wrestling isn’t just a past time, it’s a damn commitment.
The grandest weekend of professional wrestling North Texas has ever seen has arrived. Here are my picks for the major WWE shows hitting Arlington and Dallas ...
The skinny: Five competitors’ paths converged through a series of qualifying matches, and they now all share the same goal. The setting for the rematch is AAC in Dallas. Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Carmelo Hayes (c) vs. The skinny: The best story WWE has told leading up to this year’s WrestleMania. Arguably, the two best characters. Expect a raucous chant of “Wal-ter .... Wal-ter ... Wal-ter!” inside AAC as the crowd reminds WWE of the performer’s former name when he was a part of NXT UK. The skinny: Have you seen The Sopranos? D’Angelo is James Gandolfini with a few more suplexes. The skinny: Pure and simple, a dream match for wrestling fans. Prediction: Given the schedules of the two performers, I think a full-time Styles would benefit more from a win. Prediction: Much like Bad Bunny at WrestleMania 37, Paul has the athleticism and potential to hopefully put on a show for the fans. The skinny: The “we have two days of matches, but still don’t have enough space so let’s throw four tags teams together in one ring” match. But a trip to Vince McMahon’s office at WWE headquarters turned the tide when the chairman offered him a match ... against an opponent of his choosing.
Everything you need to know ahead of the WWE WrestleMania Night 2 pay-per-view this Sunday.
As entertaining as RK-Bro is as an act, you get the sense that WWE is getting antsy to break them up for a less entertaining feud. I'll side with Edge, hesitantly, but am rather confident that this will be Match of the Night. Pick: Edge wins -- Mahjouri Reigns can get his win over Lesnar down the road in the inevitable fourth Lesnar vs. Alpha Academy should have been afforded the opportunity for a longer Raw Tag Team title run, but Orton and Riddle were quick to reclaim their crowns. McAfee is so beloved by fans that it's hard to see him losing to Austin Theory, who has plenty of time in his career to recover from a loss to a pro-athlete-turned-commentator. He won't have that benefit against fellow heavyweight Lashley. "The Almighty" is coming off a recent WWE championship reign, has a winning MMA record and muscles for days. Lashley is returning from several months on the sidelines and his return should result in a win. Pick: Sasha Banks & Naomi win the titles -- Shakiel Mahjouri If there's any out here, it may be in finding the cheapest way for Lashley to lose, which could come down to MVP turning on him and moving on to manage Omos. That would benefit the monster by giving him someone who can work the mic and extend the program with Lashley for a while. Zayn is exactly the right kind of heel to lose this match and have that loss be a benefit in building him up. You would hope that WWE would not go so far as to have a quality superstar like Zayn take the L for "Jackass" star Johnny Knoxville. The no-disqualification stipulation should present opportunities for run-ins and fun stunts from other stars from the film franchise. It's undeniably the right move to have Knoxville get the win.
Tonight (Saturday, April 2, 2022), WWE WrestleMania 38 will kick off from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas at 8:00 p.m. ET..
In the words of Mahjouri. Additionally, if your cable provider is airing the event, you should have the option to watch it on pay per view, or PPV. Rey Mysterio is one of the most enduring heroes in professional wrestling and sports entertainment. WWE was preparing for a reunion of the New Day as well as a six-man tag team match. Those two elements should be sufficient to declare “The Mysterios are victorious.” I anticipate that the match will be fine since WWE is adept at setting up celebrity matches that make you say, “Wow! He really can wrestle!” However, Mysterios should be in charge of everything. Pick: The New Day will triumph. However, WrestleMania is often known for its heartwarming moments, and putting the fan-favorite pair over in an otherwise unimportant midcard event is a decent move to keep that tradition alive. To predict that Butch’s presence at ringside will tip the scales in favour of Sheamus and Holland is a simple matter of guesswork. The Usos have been an integral part of SmackDown as record-setting Tag Team champions alongside record-setting Universal Champion Roman Reigns.. The WWE appears to have faith in Boogs, despite the team’s appearance as a comedic act. The Usos may have had a long reign as champs, but Nakamura and Boogs may not. To dethrone Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso, a more cohesive tag team could have been formed, but I have a feeling WWE will make the transition on Saturday night. Tonight, we’ll take a deeper look at who our CBS Sports analysts think will win Night 1 of WWE WrestleMania 38, which begins at 8pm and streams live on Peacock following a kickoff event an hour earlier.

I read our interview in the build-up to last year's WrestleMania and I confidently predicted that Roman would not win because they wouldn't want to end the show on a on a sad note. For more from the biggest stars in TV, listen to the Radio Times podcast with Jane Garvey. Roman will probably win, but this is one of the harder marches to predict on either night. They've headlined two previous WrestleMania events before, 31 and 34, so a few people are critical of that because it's the same match again, but I disagree with them because this is a different dynamic previously. If it's not a match, and it's just a confrontation, Stone Cold is still going to come out on top. If I had to guess, I'd probably say that Roman is going to win. Ironically, now that they're not trying to get people to cheer for him, the fans seem to appreciate him a lot more. I'll still go for Johnny Knoxville purely because he's the good guy in this storyline but I wouldn't be too surprised if he takes a few bumps and bruises along the way. Kevin Owens is going to have a confrontation of some sort with 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, an all-time legend of the wrestling business, one of WWE's biggest ever stars. The whole mystery surrounding this pick is whether or not it is going to be a full match. And he's failed every step of the way which has only just ramped up the anticipation that it will be Cody Rhodes. There's no doubt he'll get cheered because he's a huge name, people would be very excited to see him back.
The greatest sporting event of all time is back. This year, WWE will hold its 38th version of WrestleMania in Arlington, Texas, at AT&T Stadium.
Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley & Liv Morgan vs. Alpha Academy for the Raw Tag Team Championship: The Profits were quick to remind the champions that they had defeated them just weeks before Riddle and Randy Orton won the tag titles for the second time. Omos: As a singles star, Omos has been dominant, winning multiple handicap matchups on Raw while claiming no one on the roster could handle him. Sami Zayn: The “Jackass” actor made an appearance at the Royal Rumble and has already had multiple run-ins with Zayn. Outside of the ring, the two got into a brawl at the premiere of the new Jackass movie. Pat McAfee: Despite speculations that McAfee will meet Vince McMahon at WrestleMania, the slot will go to McMahon’s on-screen apprentice. Brock Lesnar (WWE Champion) vs. AJ Styles: After highlighting his impressive career on the grandest stage in wrestling, Edge issued an open challenge to anyone who wants to confront him at WrestleMania. Styles responded to the challenge a week later, setting up a dream match. When the four interact, Paul and Miz have the upper hand on the Mysterios, who have been battling for weeks. This year, WWE will hold its 38th version of WrestleMania in Arlington, Texas, at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The enormous event will span two nights and will feature nearly every big talent on the roster. In addition, social media sensation Logan Paul will join up with The Miz to face Rey and Dominik Mysterio in tag-team action.

WWE will surely want fans watching for the celebrity appearances to stay for the Lesnar-Reigns match, but that doesn't entirely explain it. Who knows if Brock Lesnar continues to be a regular character on television between now and the run-up to SummerSlam this summer. Multiple reports indicate that Cody Rhodes is soon to return to WWE. Would this be the time? Roman Reigns has firmly established himself as the top character in the business. The Monday Night Messiah fought for weeks on Raw trying to earn a spot in a WrestleMania match to no avail. All three tag teams are doing some of their best work. Each match has something or someone fans want to see. Lynch, as the Raw Women's Champion, has been really good as an arrogant character, while Belair continues to improve. But you'd like to see more substance in Sunday's undercard. Rousey surprised with her ring work during her first run, but she hasn't had an opportunity to show what she can do in a big match since her return in January after three years off. Ronda Rousey seems better on paper, but the two have had some awkward physical interactions leading into this weekend. Bianca Belair inside the ring.
Seven matches, highlighted by the biggest names in the women's division and a mystery competitor, will kick off WWE's two-night event.
WrestleMania 38 will also be aired on the big screen. Night one of WrestleMania 38 will be held on Saturday, April 2. In February, he left the company after his contract wasn't renewed. Similar to Owens, Rollins did not have a match for WrestleMania, but had been attempting weekly to get one. It can be live-streamed through Peacock, but you must have their premium or premium-plus subscription. The event, taking place at Texas' AT&T Stadium, will also continue the tradition that began at WrestleMania 36 in 2020 with the show on two consecutive nights, with a total of 14 matches split between the two nights.
Everything you need to know ahead of the WWE WrestleMania Night 1 pay-per-view this Saturday.
Pick: Ronda Rousey wins the title -- Brookhouse Pick: Ronda Rousey wins the title Between E's injury, the sloppy inclusion of Butch, and the New Day reunion angle, all signs point to a fan-friendly victory for Kingston and Woods. Pick: The New Day wins -- Mahjouri It also wouldn't hurt Lynch to leave TV for a bit and retool her on-screen character because she's lost a lot of the magic that had made her such a force in the past. The only surprise here would be if Rollins' mystery opponent is not a returning Cody Rhodes. It will be, though, and with that in mind, there should be no mystery on the winner. There is no reality in the sprawling multiverse cruel enough to subject WWE fans to a Logan Paul victory at WrestleMania. Rey Mysterio is one of pro-wrestling and sports entertainment's most enduring good guys. Those two factors should be enough to say "The Mysterios get the win." It'd be easy to say the presence of Butch at ringside will tilt the scales the direction of Sheamus and Holland. But WrestleMania is generally about feel-good moments and putting the fan-favorite team over in an otherwise meaningless midcard match is a good play to continue that tradition. The Usos have been a fundamental component of SmackDown as record-setting SmackDown Tag Team champions alongside record-setting Universal champion Roman Reigns. Based on recent booking, the WWE seems to believe in Boogs (despite the team's presentation as somewhat of a comedy act). Nakamura is also coming off a recent Intercontinental title run and could be seen as a viable tag team champion. Nakamura and Boogs are an act WWE seems to like but it's hard to ignore that Nakamura had a recent 182-day run with the intercontinental championship and only defended the belt once between winning and losing the title. A feud with Corbin and Madcap Moss that has stretched on for months is, of course, a large step back from previous WrestleManias for McIntyre. Still, it's obvious WWE still sees him as a guy who belongs in the main event, so the Corbin rivalry has been a way to keep the Scot on television until it's time to be elevated again. The entire build to McIntyre vs.
