While the details of her role are still being discussed, the negotiations have centered on an arrangement in which she could host shows both for MSNBC and for Peacock, the streaming platform of MSNBC’s parent, NBCUniversal. Ms. Psaki could also make regular appearances on other MSNBC shows as well as on NBC News, the people said. Ms. Psaki could leave the White House as soon as next month, one of the people said.

Assuming Psaki’s deal gets signed, MSNBC will have hired the pubic faces of both President Biden and Vice President Harris in the span of just a couple of months. “I have nothing to confirm about my length of public service, or my planned service,” Psaki said when asked about the report.

It had been rumored that Psaki would leave the White House for a gig in television—a common occurrence for White House communications pros—and it was reported in February that she had also been in talks with CNN.

On returning to the White House in January 2021, she indicated that she expected to work for Biden for not much more than a year.
