Williams has some off field stuff that teams have to have cleared by now, but the on field talent is unquestioned. Hall is young, long and athletic, with the ability to two-gap and has some pass rush juice already. Hall doesn’t project as an immediate impact for the Arizona Cardinals, and that is alright.

I paid for it, though. Ken Pomeroy’s statistical formula ranks the Cougars as the No. 2 team in the country (behind Gonzaga) and they lived up to their reputation last night. The Cougars’ impressive showing last night has them favored over the higher-seeded Villanova in that matchup. They led wire-to-wire on the way to winning 72–60, thanks to some smothering defense. The Zags’ defeat was the more surprising of the two. But with Holmgren on the bench, the Bulldogs couldn’t mount a comeback.

He returned about two minutes later, but did not last long before being whistled for his fifth foul with 3 minutes 29 seconds left on Notae’s drive to the basket. The Zags were also trying to salve the sting of last season, when they carried an unblemished record into the championship game before being thumped by Baylor. We didn’t have much of that tonight.” That left Kansas, which plays fourth-seeded Providence on Friday in a Midwest regional semifinal, as the only remaining No. 1 seed. J.D. Notae led Arkansas with 21 points on 9 of 29 shooting and Jaylin Williams, who helped get Holmgren in foul trouble, added 15 points and 12 rebounds, doing most of his work against Gonzaga’s two big men. But Arkansas made its free throws and Gonzaga never got the ball back with a chance to get even.

Who's Killing the Wild Horses of Arizona? (unknown)

Betty Nixon has documented 40 Heber wild horse shootings in Arizona since 2018, but a $10000 Forest Service reward hasn't led to an arrest.

She looks down and points to the hip and pelvis bones of a stallion known as Big Daddy, all that’s left of the horse shot in the face in January 2019. The sight of a horse on its hind legs in play, sparring with another horse, or of a band relaxing in the sun, still leaves her awestruck. She launched a grassroots movement to protect the horses, whose numbers were declining, according to Wild Horse Country: The History, Myth, and Future of the Mustang, by David Philipps. Nelson Shirley pays for a permit for his cattle to graze on the land but says the horses have decimated some stretches. When they reached the site, they saw the body of a blood bay mare by the side of the road. All Nixon knows is that what began as a relaxing retirement hobby of tracking the bands, or families, of wild horses has become a grim task of searching for dead ones and sharing her information with law enforcement in hopes something cracks the case. It’s somebody that hates these horses with a vengeance,” she says, noting that several horses were shot in the face. Then, in January 2019, Nixon saw it up close for the first time with Raven and his mare after a friend told her of their deaths. But Koleszar describes the killings as “appalling.” “We don’t in any way, shape, or form approve of that activity.” Others say the horses are ecosystem invaders, little more than a misplaced symbol of freedom in the West. After the December killings, the Forest Service announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Three years later, Nixon has chronicled the shootings of at least 40 wild horses in this forest in northeastern Arizona, where several hundred of the Heber herd, named for the unincorporated town surrounded by the forest, roam.
