Matt Reeves' "The Batman" has one last stinger featuring Batman (Robert Pattinson) interrogating the Joker (Barry Keoghan) in Arkham Asylum.

“But in this case, I have plenty of ideas about where it goes.” “Not because anyone asked me to cut it, but [I didn’t think] it was necessary,” Reeves said. The scene also features a fuller glimpse at Keoghan’s physical transformation — which includes intense scarring on the skull, hands, and face — for the famed role outside of his brief cameo as an “unseen Arkham” inmate in “The Batman.” Fans have already compared Keoghan’s mannerisms to Heath Ledger’s Oscar-winning turn as the comic book villain in “The Dark Knight.”

Barry Keoghan Honors All Joker Actors In Response To The Batman Deleted Scene (unknown)

Actor Barry Keoghan responds to WB releasing The Batman's deleted Joker scene by honoring the 'amazing' actors who played the DC villain before him.

It also shows a much clearer look at Reeves and Keoghan's take on Joker, which is decidedly different than any of the actors that have portrayed him before (and probably closest to Ledger's Joker in appearance). Some will argue that The Silence of the Lambs-esque scene is unnecessary to the film, while others will say it could have added to it. Prior Jokers included Cesar Romero in the Batman TV show, Jack Nicholson in 1989's Batman, Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight, Jared Leto in Suicide Squad, and Joaquin Phoenix in Joker (with Mark Hamill as the best of the animated versions). Take a look at Keoghan's message below: Actor Barry Keoghan responds to the release of his Joker deleted scene from The Batman. Director Matt Reeves' The Batman is currently playing in theaters and a tremendous success around the world, recently passing the $300 million mark at the U.S. box office.

THE BATMAN Deleted Scene Fully Reveals Barry Keoghan's Joker (unknown)

Robert Pattinson's Caped Crusader meets with Barry Keoghan's Joker in a new deleted scene from Matt Reeves' The Batman movie.

But in this deleted scene we get a better look at the Joker, even if it’s still a bit blurred and shadowed. In the final cut, we never get a good look at Keoghan’s Joker, which only adds to the mystery of who this spooky prisoner is. (And to be fair, Bruce Wayne’s and Edward Nashton’s lives do have parallels.) This, naturally, is something the Caped Crusader is not interested in hearing. He points out that the Riddler “is a nobody who wants to be somebody,” highlighting how this vendetta is personal. (It is the Riddler’s website after all.) And the riddles’ themes heavily foreshadow the clip to come. This deleted The Batman scene fully reveals Barry Keoghan’s Joker. Director Matt Reeves previously teased the scene, promising we’d see it eventually.

Barry Keoghan's Joker Draws Comparisons to New 52 Death of the Family Joker (unknown)

The Joker and Batman have crossed paths across many different forms of media, with the latest coming in the feature film The Batman.

One of the big visual takeaways from "Death of the Family" was Joker's face. Keoghan as The Joker favors "Death of the Family" Joker from a distance, and fans were quick to call it out on social media. It featured The Joker attempting to systematically take out Batman's supporting cast of characters such as Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Commissioner Jim Gordon. It also takes its name from 1988's controversial "A Death in the Family" which concluded with Joker murdering Jason Todd.

When Batman asks for Riddler’s identity, Joker responds, “He’s a nobody but wants to be somebody.” “He feels these people have all wronged him,” Joker says. The deleted scene reveals The Batman’s version of The Joker is even more disfigured and scarred than The Dark Knight’s version. His laugh is totally unique and echoes all around the Arkham Asylum room.

3 Reasons Matt Reeves Was Wrong To Nix Barry Keoghan Joker Scene In The Batman (unknown)

The Batman's deleted Barry Keoghan Joker scene has been released. Here are three reasons why Matt Reeves should have included it in the film.

In a way, that could have been the case if Reeves included Keoghan’s deleted Joker scene in the theatrical version. In any case, the release of this eery interaction between Pattinson and Keoghan builds up the hype for The Batman’s sequel. But I also don't want The Joker to be a big part of the sequels… Right from the start, the dynamic between Pattinson and Keoghan is one that’s captivating and teases a very promising cinematic future. But before he does, the inmate gets one final line by saying that deep inside, the Batman agrees with what the Riddler is doing. Turns out, there was very little of the Clown Prince of Crime in the actual movie in the end.

'The Batman' Ending and Barry Keoghan Cameo Explained, All Your Questions Answered (unknown)

Robert Pattinson's first Dark Knight adventure sees the Irish actor show up as an iconic baddy. Let's break down all the adventure's climactic moments.

He also works with Gordon and DA Harvey Dent to prevent a gang war between the Falcone and Maroni crime families. That URL brings you to a viral marketing website where you answer a series of the villain's questions. This movie is reportedly the first of a trilogy, and two HBO Max shows (a police procedural set in the GCPD and a Penguin-centric crime series) are seemingly in the works. And so Edward grew up to be the Riddler. Bruce's late mother, Martha, was a member of the Arkham family whose parents died in a murder-suicide, with the trauma leading her to be institutionalised multiple times growing up. This threatened to expose Martha's story, and Thomas went to Falcone for help (because going to a mobster for aid always ends well) and Elliot ended up dead. Before Batman and the GCPD can take Falcone into custody, Selena confronts him with the revelation that he's her father and prepares to kill him. Batman leaps into action to stop people from getting electrocuted in the flood waters, then rescues the new mayor and a bunch of others who got trapped under debris. But that shouldn't be taken as canon since the scene isn't in the movie. "One day you're on top, the next you're a clown... The Batman is in movie theaters (but not on HBO Max yet), with Robert Pattinson donning Bruce Wayne's iconic cowl and beating up Gotham City's criminals in an intense adventure set in the early days of his vigilante career. They open fire on the trapped crowds, but Batman, Catwoman, Gordon and the city's cops stop them in a pretty epic action sequence.

Barry Keoghan is a blurry, disfigured Joker in The Batman deleted scene (unknown)

Check out a deleted scene from The Batman featuring Robert Pattinson's Batman visiting the Joker (Barry Keoghan) in Arkham Asylum!

There have been a lot of depictions of the Joker over the years, nearly as many as there have been of Batman. It’s difficult to get him to stand out. As Reeves acknowledges in an interview with Variety, this scenes gives definitely Manhunter/Silence of the Lambs vibes, with Batman going to this deranged criminal to get his perspective on a different deranged criminal. “He has a congenital disease where he can’t stop smiling and it’s horrific,” he told Variety in another interview. Director Matt Reeves ultimately decided to cut this scene, but he really liked it and always intended to share it. And actually, Keoghan’s Joker had a whole other scene in the movie, this one shared with Robert Pattinson’s Batman. Of course, the movie doesn’t call him the Joker, but Batman fans recognize the signs: the laughter, the references to clowns, etc.
