CENTRAL TEXAS (KXAN) — A damaging tornado outbreak and severe storms moved through the Central Texas area Monday afternoon and evening.

Severe weather with reported tornadoes moved through Central Texas Monday evening, including a possible one near the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock.

"A watch means that conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms over the next several hours," the weather service said in a statement. "Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter," the weather service said. "Large hail greater than 2 inches in diameter and tornadoes are the primary threats, but damaging winds may also occur." The outlook for Austin calls for possible thunderstorms after 2 p.m. with temperatures climbing to 79 degrees. "The state is standing with the people of Williamson County shoulder to shoulder," Abbott said. "There is a tornado warning for this storm still in effect over Bell County through 6:45 p.m." Two more later struck the Thrall and Noack communities in eastern Williamson County. Officials said debris is blocking the roads near Chandler Road and CR101. No injuries have been reported. "I don't ever want to go through that again," Wagner said. “Do not endanger yourself by trying to rush in and try to save something now,” he said. “We have downed power lines, and in order to protect our first responders it’s important we turn off the power.” "All of them are alive and well."

Multiple tornadoes hit Central Texas (unknown)

Round Rock police said there were reports of structural damage to multiple homes and businesses after a tornado touched down Monday evening.

The storm brought severe winds and hail to the Austin area. The NWS issues a tornado warning if a tornado is about to touch the ground. Williamson County's Office of Emergency Management said the tornado went along the ground at the I-35 and SH 45 flyovers.

Tornado warnings in the Austin metro issued by the National Weather Service have expired after several tornadoes touched down in the area.

A Twitter user posted video of discharges coming from power lines as the tornado crossed FM 1704. As of 7:30 p.m., more than 22,000 customers in Williamson County were without power. Earlier, a tornado was confirmed on the ground in Williamson County near Jarrell as well as another in Round Rock, according to the NWS. Video posted to the KVUE Twitter account shows a tornado moving quickly past the Dell corporate offices in Round Rock. Photos from CBS Austin showed damage to the Chili's in Round Rock. More than 4,000 customers in Travis County and nearly 1,700 in Bastrop County didn't have power, according to poweroutage.us. A "large, extremely dangerous" tornado was confirmed on the ground in Elgin moving northeast at 35 mph at approximately 6:38 p.m. and as of 7:15 p.m. was located 7 miles northwest of Lexington and moving at 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service. A tornado warning in relation to the storm expired in north central Lee County at 7:30 p.m. A warning for Travis County expired at 7 p.m. and one for Williamson County expired at 7:15 p.m. Another tornado warning for a storm near Smithville expired at 7:45 p.m. in southeastern Bastrop County, south central Lee County and northwestern Fayette County.
