I didn’t watch the away games at Indiana and Iowa at all because I was such a mess, and after the first three losses of the season I didn’t even sleep. I am sure it was a release in different ways for many of you all. I already struggle with mental health issues, but in working with my therapist she said that the PTSD of that even manifested itself in me watching Purdue games because my brain associated the accident with Purdue because we were driving home from a game at the time. We were hit from behind as the driver of an SUV slammed into the car behind us, knocking it into us, then us into the car in front of us. This was the type of game we have lost so many times in the past. Thankfully, I have been able to work through the worst of it thanks to a wonderful therapist, and last night was a tremendous release. He beat the Buckeyes at the buzzer again this year in Mackey Arena. That was the regular season though. Sure, the first few views looked like it was off of Texas, but the longer the official stood at the monitor the more it felt like it was going to be Texas ball, and Carr was going to break our hearts again like he did last year in Minneapolis. I know I was not the only Purdue fan turning that over in my head, and each second the review went on felt like days. Why wasn’t he going to the basket where he could at least get to the line. The Longhorns had a lengthy scoring drought of nearly 10 minutes in the first half. That’s hard enough to battle back from in itself, but the Longhorns remained in the game until the final minute.

If they want to come and double on you, they want to give you a lot of attention, now move the basketball, but when they stay one-on-one, like be aggressive and go and score. Like sometimes he's a pass-first player and you can't be a pass-first player when you're one-on-one. So like that's -- you see highlights, you see things and people say what do you think of this, then when you don't have a good, you know, comment, people look at you like you're crazy. And you said he's being more patient, but for him to look to get his offense, instead of maybe being too much of a facilitator, has that been an emphasis? They deny passes, they disrupt, but if we can get the ball where we want and they're out-denying everybody, then we're going to be one on one at the block. So if you want to stay one on one and you can defend us, then that really helps you, but if you can't defend us and you're going to draw fouls, we're obviously going to really get into your bench like we did today.
