Prior to signing with the Padres, he had committed to Dallas Baptist University. In 2019, he earned Perfect Game Honorable Mention and Underclassmen All-American honors. Voit, 31, has hit .267/.357/.510 (297-for-1,112) with 187R, 47 doubles, 2 triples, 73HR, 203RBI and 133BB in 351 career games over parts of five Major League seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals (2017-18) and the Yankees (2018-21). He hit .239 (51-for-213) with 26R, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 11HR, 35RBI and 21BB in 68 games last season. The Wildwood, Mo., native was originally selected by the Cardinals in the 22nd round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of Missouri State University.
