While fans of Amazon's crazy superhero series The Boys are gearing up for the release of Season 3, Karl Urban just hinted at when Season 4 might be filming.

The only question is how that will affect our heroes in the long run, as power itself can be a drug for some, after all. In a recent interview with Variety at SXSW, Urban dropped the critical detail that his schedule will be jam-packed with super scumbags near the end of 2022, when he is scheduled to get back in action for the Amazon show's fourth season. Just what will happen for the show's characters between now and Season 4 is up for debate.

"The Boys" is indeed a parody of many superheroes that we have all come to know of late. And Season 3 adds more to the list.

Overall, “The Boys” Season 3 will bring more action, the politics of superheroes, new supes, and a lot of palpable parody. There is also a scene where he reminds himself to smile in front of the camera. A lot is going on with the seven in the trailer. Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy is the newest addition to the “The Boys” series. In the comics, “The Boys” fight Payback and almost get themselves killed before Butcher kills most of them. A Captain America spoof, Soldier Boy, in the comics, is a minor antagonist. This is actually adapted from the comics where the group of “The Boys” get injected with the compound V to be able to literally take on the superheroes. This doesn’t make sense unless it is a way to catalyze the compound V already running in his veins to react to harm (pretty much like what Wade Wilson had to go through before he became Deadpool). This would mean that Hughie, too, has been injected with the compound V. It makes sense again if we consider the comics. Is this a sign of him becoming more like his father, the Homelander? We hope not. This will further set the stage for an ending akin to the one in the comics. There is also a moment in the trailer where we get to see him holding a vial of what seems to be the compound V. So, it seems that he has injected himself with it. There are many other “supe” elephants in the room that we need to address right away.

St. Thomas More was previously eliminated from the WIAA Tournament due to an incident in a regional semifinal game, but a court order placed them back in the field. Milwaukee Academy of Science is Division 4′s top seed, and they will get 4th-seeded Cameron at 6:35 p.m. Thursday. #2 Roncalli will meet #3 Marshall at 8:15 p.m. on the other side of the bracket. In Division 1, the state’s largest-school classification, top-seeded Neenah, in the school’s 28th appearance at state, will take on #4 Racine Case in a semifinal at 6:35 p.m. Friday, followed by #2 Menomonee Falls in their first-ever state appearance taking on #3 Brookfield Central at 8:15 p.m. None of the four teams were at state last year, but Brookfield Central, now earning their 12th state championship appearance, won the 2019 title and defeated Neenah in a semifinal in the last year it was held at the Kohl Center. The championship game is Saturday night at about 8:25 p.m. Division 2′s defending champion, Pewaukee, earned the top seed and will get #4 Ashwaubenon at 1:35 p.m. Friday. #2 La Crosse Central, one of the favorites in 2020 coming off of three-straight state appearances behind brothers Johnny and Jordan Davis before the tournament was canceled, will face #3 Westosha Central at 3:15 p.m. Friday. The championship game is at 6:35 p.m. Saturday. In their first-ever state appearance, West Salem earned a top seed in Division 3, facing #4 Brillion at 1:35 p.m. Thursday to open up the state championships. The event, which will return to the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis. this year after being held in La Crosse and Oshkosh last year and was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, features 20 teams across five divisions of high school basketball in Wisconsin.

Perhaps The Boys: Diabolical's Black Noir popularity riffs on the real-world DC rivalry between Superman and Batman. If Homelander is Supes, Noir sits closer to the Dark Knight, and DC's top stars have endured a (mostly) friendly popularity contest for almost a century. The Boys now reveals Vought's top supe before Homelander was, in fact, Black Noir. In The Boys: Diabolical's "One Plus One Equals Two" episode, Homelander's (or "The Homelander," at this point) Vought debut is shown for the very first time. He's assigned Black Noir as a mentor, describing the silent supe as a man he's admired his entire life. Debuting in The Boys season 3 and played by Jensen Ackles, Soldier Boy has also been described as something of a "proto-Homelander," bearing the same patriotic, all-American message. The Boys' top supe before Vought introduced Homelander probably isn't who you think.

Based on the footage, The Boys is set to live up to the promises made by the key creatives that it’ll be the wildest season yet, so we’re excited to see how on earth they can keep upping the ante. Principal photography on season 3 began in February of last year and continued through to September, so it makes sense that The Boys would be looking to get started on the fourth batch of episodes as quickly as possible, given how the pandemic-induced hiatus massively affected the third.
