Shawn Levy is set to direct Deadpool 3 and Ryan Reynolds shared a hilarious poster to commemorate the occasion.

All Levy has to do is add a lot of violence, blood, and foul language. The Deadpool franchise has been one wild ride so far as the character started out as the best part of a lesser desirable X-Men movie before spinning-off into his own “leaked” test footage that spawned two extremely successful films. This choice in director is significant given that star Ryan Reynolds has worked with Levy on last year’s hit comedy Free Guy and The Adam Project. The latter film releases on Netflix this weekend.

Will it continue its own story or is it going to be included in some capacity with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? It'd be difficult to integrate Deadpool, the merc with a mouth, into a family-friendly movie franchise, but Disney has proven time and time again that they can do the impossible with the Marvel heroes, so who knows? A betting man would guess that the reason why it took so long for the franchise's third installment to come along was that the pandemic knocked everything out of whack. The Hollywood Reporter reported that Levy is now slated to direct the upcoming film Deadpool 3, which of course is going to star Reynolds as the titular character.

Frequent Reynolds collaborators Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who penned the scripts for the first two films, are now working on Deadpool 3. The news comes on the heels of Disney announcing it would move its Netflix series to Disney+. Those shows include Daredevil and Punisher, which, along with Deadpool, are the most mature Marvel content in the Disney fold.
