Berry was 5-10 from 3 in the first game, scoring 19 points, while Young chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. He didn’t record a stat in any other category, so that was a big missing piece in the first game. Iowa won the lone meeting with Wildcats, leading by as many as many as 30 points in an 82-61 win on February 28 in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Keegan Murray led the way with 26 points and 18 rebounds, while Jordan Bohannon and Connor McCaffery punctuated Senior Night with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

Rutgers defeated Iowa during the regular season. Can the Scarlet Knights do it again in the Big Ten Tournament?

Iowa gymnastics picked up an always-welcome win over Iowa State, highlighting a quieter week for Hawkeye Olympic sports.

The Wildcats rallied late to take the doubles point and then quickly followed up with two more on the #1 and #2 courts. Iowa batted around on only two hits, drawing two walks and reaching on a wild pitch en route to the 4 run outburst. Ben Tallman had a highlight day at the plate, going 3/4 and Peyton Williams continued his hot start, driving in a run after a home run on Friday, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Aggies' big inning. Iowa turned their 6th inning woes on their head Sunday, scoring 4 runs of their own in the inning to rally past the Washington State Cougars and win 6-5. The Iowa softball team has gotten off to a strong start on the season and now sit at 11-5. Butler was able to get three across in the third inning and that proved to be enough to earn the win. Iowa scored five in the first two innings, clearly wanting to waste no time making amends for Tuesday's loss, and looked in control throughout. Loecker was again on the mound and threw a complete game, but the bats weren't able to muster enough runs to complete the comeback. The game was tight through the first five innings with Iowa holding a 3-1 lead thanks to a strong outing from Breanna Vasquez. In the 6th inning, the Hawkeye bats came alive, bringing home three runs and pulling away from the Sycamores. Denali Loecker led off the inning with a home run and the Hawks scored another on Marissa Peek's second double of the day. Iowa's offense tried to rally in the 9th, but ultimately came up short after putting two runners on. In Game 1, the Hawkeyes took on Indiana State and earned a convincing 6-1 win. Iowa's score was the 5th best in program history, thanks to a dominant night across the board.
