Why the Milwaukee Bucks are excited about their tough stretch ahead (Behind The Bucks Pass)

The Milwaukee Bucks have the hardest remaining schedule in the NBA this season, and Wesley Matthews talked about why that may be a good thing.

Getting these three back for this final regular season push would be a tremendous help, but the Bucks will have to work with what they have momentarily. Health will also be a key factor for the Bucks as they brace for this tough stretch of games, with the team hopeful they can get some pieces back. It will be fascinating to see how the champs finish out the final 17 games before the playoffs and where exactly they may end up in the jam-packed Eastern Conference standings as a result. Some have argued that the Bucks have cruised throughout the regular season this year and that they take certain matchups more seriously than others, meaning they will certainly have to turn up the intensity during this stretch. Matthews has a point about being excited for Milwaukee’s remaining strength of schedule, as it will give the Bucks a chance to ramp up before the postseason. Everybody’s getting ready for this final playoff push and everybody’s getting ready for the playoffs and postseason.

Suns' tremendous shorthanded effort nearly enough to upset Bucks (Arizona Sports)

Is it possible for a team with 50 wins to have its best effort in a loss? I'm open to hearing the argument after the Phoenix Suns came up short in Milwaukee ...

That sequence of events put the Bucks in prime position, leading by six at 1:25 on the clock. He closed up shop with a midrange jumper at 51 seconds and his fifth triple the next time the Bucks had the ball. He turned over the ball at 2:35 remaining, Jrue Holiday got free throws for Milwaukee on the other end and then a Payne drive was blocked at the rim by Antetokounmpo. After the Suns were entrenched in that see-saw slugfest for over nine minutes of the fourth quarter, they somehow weren’t putting a Bucks team away that kept on converting difficult shots Phoenix was defending well. Phoenix was on the front foot for the majority of the day. With the fourth quarter arriving, a tidal wave takeover from the Bucks felt inevitable. They had a 9-2 run in the last 86 seconds of the first half and then a 5-0 spurt to end the remaining 96 seconds in the third quarter. Mikal Bridges was the fourth Suns starter with at least five assists, amounting to six to go with 14 points he scored all of in the second half. “So that’s where the frustration for me (is). I’m telling our guys to continue to go to the paint and play physical basketball. Phoenix as a team had 33 assists and Cam Payne dished out a team-high eight, running the offense well in place of Paul for the third straight game and putting up 23 points as well. The Suns shot 53.8% from the field and knocked down 14 3s, but the Bucks were hot too, slightly topping Phoenix with 54.0% efficiency and 15 long balls. “That’s who we are,” Williams said of the effort.

Milwaukee Bucks get 3 statement wins to start March (Dairyland Express)

The Milwaukee Bucks have started off March with wins over the Miami Heat, the Chicago Bulls, and the Phoenix Suns. Three wins over some of the NBA's best.

The Bucks have turned the ball over 69 times in their last five games. Those third-quarter performances have either erased some nice Milwaukee leads or put the Bucks in some holes heading into the fourth. The Bucks showed their championship toughness by coming back from a 14-point hole to win on a last-second bucket by Jrue Holiday. We kind of know what it takes, especially in moments like that, what it takes to win games.” Holiday also hit some clutch buckets down the stretch. That is a nice bounce back after losing four of five games during mid-February.

Milwaukee vs. Phoenix: Bucks Block Out Suns, 132-122 (Brew Hoop)

In an NBA Finals rematch, the Bucks were able to come from behind and knock off the visiting Phoenix Suns, 132-122. It'd be a sloppy first quarter for the ...

That streak was broken, and it was only broken by one point, as Giannis totaled 19 points on the afternoon. It was nearly impossible for him to miss in the final two quarters of play, as with Giannis in foul trouble, he was keeping the Bucks in this one. He’d total 12 points on the afternoon and would stand tall when the moment shined on him, including some clutch plays late in the game. In his time with the Bucks so far this season, the standout of Serge Ibaka’s contributions have been from the defensive end. Though the Bucks would struggle at times to stay in the game, they’d get hot late in the quarter. It’d result in 12 points for Phoenix, and helped them take a three point lead into the second quarter, 33-30.

The Bucks say Noche Latina and honoring organizations like The Way Out fits into their mission of connecting with and supporting the Milwaukee community.
