Buffalo Bills reportedly met with DT Jordan Davis at NFL Combine (BuffaloLowDown)

The defensive tackle is a big need for the Buffalo Bills and there isn't a bigger defensive tackle than Jordan Davis...

However, for the Buffalo Bills, this may not be as much of a concern when considering how frequently they rotate players along the defensive line. He did have five sacks last year with the Bulldogs but there is room for improvement. Even if the Buffalo Bills bring back Harrison Phillips and Justin Zimmer, two players who are set to be free agents this offseason, the defensive tackle position is one that they should address.

Georgia's Nakobe Dean did not participate in the workout. Alabama's Christian Harris, who was a semifinalist for the Butkus Award this past season, ran a 4.44 and was the only other linebacker other than Andersen to run better than a 4.5. He also had one rushing touchdown this past season. And when the linebackers took the field to close out the workouts Saturday night it was Montana State linebacker Troy Andersen who ran the first, and fastest it turned out, 40 with a 4.41 clocking at 243 pounds. Former Nebraska defensive tackle Khalil Davis ran a 4.75 40 at the 2020 scouting combine, which was the fastest 40 by a defensive lineman who weighed in at more than 300 pounds since 2006. The 4.78 clocking was the fastest for any player over 330 pounds at the combine since 2006 and is believed to be one of the fastest times for a player that size in the event's history.

Georgia defensive tackle Jordan Davis started Day 3 of the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine with a jaw-dropping 4.78 40-yard dash at 341 pounds.

There's been discussion about whether he might still be available at a later slotting than that, in part because of doubts about his pass-rushing ability. Not surprisingly, he decided not to run a second attempt, even though the official time had not yet been released. His first run was unofficially clocked at 4.82 but the official time was even better.

Defensive tackle Jordan Davis had a jaw-dropping performance at the NFL Scouting Combine and the Jacksonville Jaguars would be lucky if he slides.

But with so many needs to fill, he’s simply a luxury the Jags cannot afford. Maybe he could have slid to the second round, where there the Jags hold the first pick (33rd overall). But now, their chances of landing the Behemoth defensive tackle are slim. So how fast is Davis and why is he the talk of the town? By now, you have probably seen Davis running a 4.78 time at the combine. Before the Combine, he was seen as a late first-round pick. Every year, there’s a draft prospect that stands out at the NFL Scouting Combine because their performance is better than expected.
