Jordan signed a one-year, $2.6 million veteran minimum contract with the Lakers this season. However, the 6-foot-11, 265-pounder would fill a backup center need for the Sixers. Jordan played with Harris under Rivers when both players were with the Los Angeles Clippers.

There's no need to pump brakes on James Harden and the Sixers (NBC Sports)

As the Sixers push for a championship, James Harden will continue to dismantle the labels placed upon him. By Mike Mulhern.

Then somehow Harden took as much heat for wanting to get away from Kyrie Irving and his part-time status as Irving did for choosing to only be available for half the games. So, watch the speedometer climb, puff your chest out and get ready to celebrate. The haters will try to throw cold water on the situation by calling Harden a ticking time bomb, a malcontent who forced his way out of his last two stops. Forget trying to figure out how Harden will fit into the offense. Harden will continue to dismantle the labels placed upon him as the season continues. Surely, you’ve seen some naysayers trying to downplay the Sixers' dominance in the infantile stages of the James Harden era.

Philadelphia 76ers coach Doc Rivers keeps in touch with Brooklyn Nets big man Andre Drummond after the trade.

“He’s playing well, man, and I’m happy for him. He did, however, have a wild pass that went out of bounds in a game for Brooklyn, and Rivers let him know about it. He was a roommate of a kid that I adopted in military school, so I’ve known him and his mom literally for that long.”

NEW YORK–A lot has been made about the new star duo of Joel Embiid and James Harden for the Philadelphia 76ers, but in order for the Sixers to get it done ...

Playing next to a playmaker like Harden will do wonders for him due to the attention he and Embiid will continue to receive. He stayed with it and he knocked down three big shots late in Sunday’s win over the New York Knicks to finish with 12 points in the game. On top of that, the Sixers were winning and that is the most important part.

Woj: Sixers' Will be 'Aggressive in Pursuit' of Veteran Center (973espn.com)

As the Sixers look to put the final pieces of their playoff roster together, they are still looking to add a big man behind Joel Embiid.

The 33-year old averaged 14.1 boards from 2013-14 - 2018-19. But, after playing with Harden on last year’s Nets, he reportedly might end up sharing the floor with the 10-time All-Star again. Obviously they start posting him up and he doesn’t have the size to guard some of those guys, so that’s why we’re out on the market trying to find one more big, for nights like that.” As is the case with Andre Drummond, the Sixers’ backup big man before the Harden deal, Jordan’s foul shooting has long been a notable weakness.

The Sixers are off to an impressive start of the Harden era, but Smith has a point. The Philadelphia 76ers have a new star duo — future Hall of Famer James Harden and MVP candidate Joel Embiid — that are off to a great start. I mean, my God, God forbid that Kyrie Irving actually just to play games at the Barclays Center. I mean, we haven’t seen that yet.

Are the Sixers fixed or fleeced after James Harden trade? (The Sixer Sense)

The Sixers traded malcontent Ben Simmons for James Harden at the trade deadline. Now, they're positioned to succeed -- but so is Brooklyn.

I believe this has to be the year. The stars are aligning and so are the free throws. He also isn’t a closer which the Sixers needed him to be at times and he couldn’t answer the bell. Dodging them this year puts us in the best position to win an NBA championship. Following a 30-point blowout in Minnesota, the Sixers and their fans feel like the team is finally ready to complete the process. The Sixers have to win now! As excited as we all should be there are still some holes to this roster. When he played for the Sixers in the playoffs he was god awful, there is no denying that. Doris Burke even took her shot at Ben Simmons in the beginning of the broadcast. One side was ready to throw a parade instantly, the other side still skeptical. But when his number was called, he delivered a big-time 3 in New York to secure victory. This occurred during a win over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Tobias Harris struggling in both wins is nothing new.

Report: Sixers expected to make a run at Lakers buyout DeAndre ... (Sixers Wire)

The Philadelphia 76ers are expected to pursue recent Los Angeles Lakers buyout big man DeAndre Jordan.

Jordan is not the same guy who once made the All-NBA First Team, but he can bring an ability as somebody who can roll to the basket and catch lobs. While they made their big move back on Feb. 10 to acquire superstar James Harden, they still need a backup big man. The Sixers moved Andre Drummond to the Brooklyn Nets in the Harden deal so they have been in need of somebody to replace him.
